Youth Program Manager
The Gatineau River Yacht Club is now hiring for the 2025 season!
Established on the Gatineau River in Chelsea, QC, our Youth Sailing Program has inspired a love of sailing in the Ottawa-Gatineau region for over 50 years. Each year, the club hosts a day camp for kids to introduce them to the joys and wonders of sailing. The program offers certication levels CANSail 1 through 4 and operates a small but successful race team under the guidance of an experienced race coach.
Sheltered by the Gatineau Hills and located on an island, the club offers quick access to calm, clean, and swimmable waters. The program has access to a fleet of Oriental2 prams, Optimists, O’P Skiffs, C420s and Lasers/ILCAs, as well as motorboats for safety and coaching purposes.
The Gatineau River Yacht Club is seeking a bilingual Program Manager who has previous coaching and sailing experience. We are looking for someone responsible, with strong leadership and organisational skills. Acting as the supervisor of the coaching staff, the Program Manager will be expected to be an enthusiastic, creative, and positive role model for children and youths, ensuring a pleasant and safe learning environment.

Responsibitiees
- Full-time presence, Monday to Friday during camp sessions
- Managing and mentoring the coaching staff.
- Communication with parents via email and social media
- Organization of the sailboat and coach boat fleet
- Assistance with CANSail instruction
- Support for program administration
- Collaboration with the Youth Program and Communications Directors, as well as GRYC Staff
Requirements
- CANSail 1&2 certification (advanced training preferred)
- Sail Canada instructor registration for 2025
- Some racing experience (preferred)
- ROC(M) Certificate (preferred)
